I'm honored to have received a grant from the Corral & Cathers Professional Artist Fund of the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
The Coral Gables Community Foundation today awarded $230K in community focused grants to non-profit organizations and professional artists vital to preserving the quality of life in Coral Gables. The Community Giving Program is co-chaired by F. David Olazabal and Ashley Cusack.
“These grants were selected to fill the greatest needs of the Coral Gables community,” said Cusack. “We believe these 51 grants and 11 artist awards are investments that have the potential to make South Florida a better place to live, work, learn and play.”
The Community Giving Program reviewed 136 letters of inquiry in March, and narrowed the slate to 89 finalists reviewed by the Grants Committee, which brought the list down to 40 that would receive awards. In all, the Community Giving Program has made 466 grants worth over $1 million since the program was conceived under the leadership of Foundation Board Chair Carlos Garcia in 2014.
Giving Committee Co-Chairs F. David Olazabal and Ashley Cusack presented the grants before a packed courtyard of more than 100 guests at Bachour in Coral Gables on June 7th.
